Right, since Morris has quoted me at the beginning of his latest ridiculous article, I think I deserve the right of reply.

Regarding the Green Arrow’s latest smear article about British Freedom. It is true that I said:

“Searchlight themselves acknowledged that there is space on the spectrum for a party such as British Freedom.”

My quote was making reference to Nick Lowles’ article on the EDL and the Tea Party.

It was part of a response to the question:

My full response:

“I can’t speak for the others, but I’m in. Searchlight themselves acknowledged that there is space on the spectrum for a party such as British Freedom. A party that doesn’t proscribe the Defence Leagues in a fit of jealousy.

“There is a large ideological thread on the British Democracy Forum, where Lee (and to a lesser extent myself) battled it out with racial nationalist naysayers. The major sticking point for them is not policy or personnel, it’s ideological.

“The idea with British Freedom, is to be ahead of the curve. The thrust is the recognition that overt racial/ethno themes don’t work. We have 80 years of electoral failure to back up this assertion. It’s my belief that the indigenous cause needs to be taken up by a lobby group, a non-partisan group. Far less threatening because it doesn’t seek power for itself, only the furtherance of a very worthy cause – preserving the ethnic integrity of the British Isles, and ensuring a national legacy for future ethnic Britons.

Nick Lowles’ original quote:

“However, I’ve also been pondering whether such a group could emerge over here and my conclusion is it a real possibility and it could be quite dangerous. I fear that there is political space for such an organisation. There is a ceiling on the support the BNP can attract, and they are quite some way off reaching that at present due to their internal conflicts, but there is also space to the right of the Conservative Party.”

I wasn’t saying that Searchlight endorse the formation of British Freedom. In fact, Nick Lowles reveals that Searchlight fears the formation of a party like British Freedom.

Of course, we can’t allow this to get in the way of a smear article, can we, Morris?
