English Democrats’ Immigration Policy – Joke
Somebody sent me a PDF document recently, it contained a rather snazzy presentation – made by Mark Collett if I’m not mistaken – of the English Democrats’ policies.
The page on immigration declares ‘Control Our Borders’, which sounds promising to any Nationalist, until you read this:
We believe that the government should vigorously enforce existing immigration laws. England is currently seen as a soft touch the world over when it comes to immigration and our good will has been abused by other EU countries. There should be a points system for entry to the UK which is similar to the Australian or Canadian model. This would ensure that only those who would benefit our country would be allowed into England.
The existing immigration system is a joke and cannot keep track of the immigrants that are already in the UK.
Furthermore, the actual policy does not mention any sort of restriction, save a points system, a system already touted by the last Labour government and a system that we already possess!
The quote below the statement declares:
“England shouldn’t be a soft option for economic migrants.”
Again, this is very sly wording. Economic migrants, despite what we believe, does not include asylum seekers, suggesting that the English Democrats would allow England to remain as the number 1 destination for the world’s border hoppers.
The English Democrats’ immigration policy is actually softer than that presented by UKIP – which advocates a 5-year halt to all immigration (when last I looked).
In these times of mass immigration, the control of inward population movement is a key nationalist policy. A true nationalist party will demand the absolute lock down of our borders for a period of time so that we can take stock of what and who is within our borders at the moment.
It seems that the Eng Dems are going down the road of the Faux Nationalist parties like the SNP and Plaid Cymru – the latter openly declares itself as an ‘internationalist party’ on its website – though with a right-wing slant rather than a ‘democratic socialist’ tinge.
The fact is, the English Democrats don’t have a genuine nationalist pedigree, they were born out of a pressure group called ‘Campaign for an English Parliament’, and that is still their key aim – to dissolve the union and create an English parliament, everything else is secondary to this aim. The leader is an ex-conservative and so are many of the party membership, so you can expect a Tory-flavoured policy set.
This brings me to the matter of the British Ethno-Nationalists joining the English Civic Nationalists.
There are currently several positions available on the Eng Dem’s National Executive, taking a position would give those ex-BNP folk the clout to launch policy amendments at conference, however, they’re likely to see much resistance from the section of the party that has been at pains to transform itself into the non-offensive English (right-wing) equivalent of the SNP.
This still begs the question, what is the game of the formerly staunch British ethno-nationalists?
We all know that Eddy Butler didn’t fancy having to rebuild a party from scratch and was a bit sick of the perennial difficulties surrounding British Nationalist parties (aren’t we all?). It is interesting to note that having persuaded some Brit Nats to join the Eng Dems, he’s finding himself obliged to listen to their complaints about the party – and they’re rolling in thick and fast.
More puzzling is the decision of Chris Beverley, who was very nationalist even by BNP standards. Ideologically speaking, I can see no parity between himself and the Eng Dems. Again, the only solution is to inch-by-inch change the policies and eventually the ideology itself.
And whilst the English Democrats remain a civic nationalist party with weak policies to match, they won’t pick up the bulk of the British Nationalists, who are used to much stronger fare.

the current point system is in no way similar to the australia system……the current system is just a namby pamby point system that has no basis and no limitations
Not the point, Sam. It's still a points system at heart and would do nothing to help our nation, save weigh down an already ineffective immigration system in further bureaucracy, as immigrants learn the loop holes. All other nationalistic political parties offer at least a halt on immigration, some even offer reversal via repatriation.
The English democrats are trying to become the English version of the SNP or Plaid Cymru, even one of their heavyweights makes the comparison on his blog. They are sacrificing core nationalist policies in an effort to reach their ultimate goal of English parliament, and to hell with any other nationalist goals.
i support a initial 5 year stop to get the backlog cleared and instill a strong point system like canada e.t.c no country survives without some productive immigration………
Once the English Parliament is achieved, democratic nationalism will be able to advance in a political forum where it is likely to have more success.
Most Brit Nat parties include the formation of an English parliament as a policy.
